Essential Marketing Materials to Grow Your Business

Grow Your Business

There are many marketing communication
pieces that can help create interest and sales
for your company, but there are three that
are essential:

  1. Business Card
  2. Your business card should contain all your important contact information, which most likely would include your name, title, business phone and fax number, business address, cell phone, email address, and web site address.

Your business card should also include your company's logo and either a list of services or description of your business. Be careful not to put too much information or graphics on your card... this could make it difficult for prospects to locate contact information quickly. The size of the font and style are important as well. Choose a font that is easy to read in both style and size.

Keep business cards with you at all times... you never know when you may have an opportunity at new business.

  3. Web Site
  4. It's 2008... if you don't have a web site for your business you need to get one... now! The internet is huge and only getting bigger and if you want to be taken seriously as a business you should have an online presence.

    Your company web site should:

    • Be easy to navigate
    • Inform prospects on your product or service
    • Educate prospects on relevant issues related to your product or service
    • Be professional in appearance
    • Contain your business contact information
    • Have a way for prospects in inquire for more information

Your web site should be designed with easy navigation, so that visitors can easily find what they are looking for while visiting your site. Make sure your web site contains useful information about your product or service and not just platitudes and generalities. If you are serious about getting visitors to your site you should consider having your web site optimized to get your site to top ranking results (Google, Yahoo, etc.).

  5. Follow-up Marketing Piece
  6. A follow-up marketing piece can be a post card, an html newsletter or thank you letter. The follow-up piece should be used after an initial contact or meeting with a perspective client and is essential to keep your product or service "top-of-mind" with the prospect. Whether your follow-up piece is mailed or emailed (or both) should be determined by finding out what method of communication your prospect would like.

It is also a good idea to have additional follow-up marketing pieces, because it generally takes regular contact to get noticed and stand out from the competition.
